Foodie Favourite - Gluten/Dairy Free

Hi Everyone,

So I thought I would do a post on some of my favourite foods at the moment just a few cereal/snack items that I have come across recently they are all Gluten/Dairy Free as I try to avoid Gluten & Dairy as much as possible.

So first things first.....

Doves Farm Organic Cereal Flakes

So these cereal flakes are Gluten Free (although not dairy free as they contain milk powder so avoid if you cannot tolerate dairy at all.) They are made out of Rice & Buckwheat & I find them very nice they remind me a little of Kellogs Special K (when I used to eat it) in texture. It states that they are low in fat & fibre rich so all that good stuff you want with a cereal they are also suitable for vegetarians as well, if you are allergic to Soya & Nuts avoid these as it may contain traces of them.
I like to eat mine with a milk alternative such as KoKo Coconut Milk (listed below) & dried fruit such as raisins, cherries, cranberries & blueberries along with some chopped hazelnuts but feel free to add whatever you like fresh fruit would be good for example or eaten just on its own too.

KoKo Coconut Milk Dairy Alternative

Now as I like to try an avoid Dairy as much as possible I tend to use this Dairy alternative which is a coconut variety I have tried others such as Soya Milk but its not to my taste but I like this one it is pretty inoffensive in taste there is some coconut flavour but it is subtle & I don't find it makes anything you put it with taste odd which some alternatives can. I tend to use this on my cereal in porridges, in my coffee & if I make pancakes. I will say it is quite thin (watery) so tea & coffee can be quite strong.
It states it contains added Calcium, Vitamin D2 & B12 is Dairy/Lactose Free, Soya Free, Gluten Free, Cholesterol Free (at only 2% fat), a Natural Source of Lauric Acid, No artificial flavours, colours or preservatives, Suitable for Coeliacs, Vegetarians, Vegans & those with other nut allergies.

Eat Natural Fruit & Nut Bars; Darker Chocolate with Brazil Nuts & Apricots

Now for a snack or breakfast on the go I like these bars & the Darker Chocolate with Brazils & Apricots is my favourite. These bars are Gluten Free & suitable for Vegetarians (although they do contain chocolate at minimum 70% cocoa solids.) They do contain nuts & seeds so not good for those with Nut allergies it also states it may conatin Cow's Milk so no good if you have a strong Dairy/Lactose intolerance or are vegan.
I find these very filling even though they are reasonably small bars they contain crisped rice, various dried fruits, pumpkin seeds, coconut and brazil nuts along with dark chocolate. I buy them in packs of 4 from the supermarket although I believe you can buy them individually too there are also a range of flavours.

Alpro Soya Desserts

Now these come in Chocolate, Vanilla & Caramel flavours. I prefer to use these instead of the yoghurts as they don't need to be stored in the fridge just your cupboard & are long dated so you don't have to worry about them going out of date in a few days. I like these despite not being keen on Soya alternatives much. They have a nice thick consistency & good flavour too & are a decent pot size. They are Dairy free of course I get them from the supermarket in packs of 4 & the above flavours are the only I know of so far.

So that is it for this post I hope you enjoyed this or found it helpful particularly if you are interested in Gluten or Dairy Free products any questions or comments post below. Until next time..... Bye :)

My favourite Bath & Body Products of the moment :)

Hey Everyone,

Sorry for a slightly late posting I haven't been feeling great recently but back now so lets get started shall we not :)

So I thought I would do a blog on my favourite Bath & Body products of the moment (in which I mean products I have bought recently & love, well plus One that I just always have all the time too.

Soap & Glory The Daily Smooth Body Butter

Oh yes, this is the One product I mentioned too you above. I have been using this now for about 2 1/2 years and I love it ! I love the smell and the feel of the product & I do like Soap & Gory Packaging as well.
It says " with Rosehip Oil & Cocoa Butter scented with Mist You Madly's, beautiful notes of Bergamot, Blackcurrant, Magnolia, Freesia, Vanilla & Musk." Also amazingly effective for dry skin too.
I find it leaves my skin really soft & the smell is so lovely & the scent lasts so well on me I can smell it for ages after I put it on. I find its scent has gone well with all the perfumes I use so that makes for a gorgeous scent double whammy ! (Plus when I first started using this it was around the same time I met my husband so the scent reminds me of that time too :), you know when a scent reminds you of a certain time & you either love or hate it like songs do, this is a love product for me. )

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Fresh & Foamy Body Wash

Now, I recently got this because I had heard good things about it & I have to say I really like it the scent is lovely I really love those fizzy lemon/lime scents they are always so refreshing & yet generally still quite strong in smell which means it lasts. I am one of those people that needs strong scents to last on me if the scent is to light its just well gone, its like it says to my skin 'Well hey, I'm not sticking around here, see ya bye', lol.
It says with "Lime Oil, Coolcapsule (TM) X, Kiwi Juice Water & Skin Softening Omega-Rich Veggie Oil" also with Sweet Lime fragrance.  So all in all this one is a thumbs up from me.

Dirty Works All of a Lather Body Wash & Supreme Cream Body Butter

Ah yes she says, I think I would say this is a dupe for Soap & Glory in all fairness & I found it sold courtesy of Sainsburys. It is very similar but not the same obviously it comes in blue packaging and smaller standard sizes but then again its is near enough 1/2 the price of Soap & Glory. I like the scent it is quite a sweet/citrus number although it doesn't last as long on me as Soap & Glory & I would say more than a Body Butter it is more like a rich cream but I found it sinks in well & is not heavy so that is good. It says with " Shea Butter & Sweet Almond Oil" & it does leave my skin soft too, so all in all I do really like it.
The Body Wash has the same scent & I like that too although my only gripe is that it doesn't lather too much so you have to use quite a bit. It says with " Lemongrass to put an extra spring in your step" whether it puts an extra spring in my step I am not sure but I do really like it & if your looking for a product similar to Soap & Glory this fits the bill quite well I think as of so far I have only found it sold in Sainsburys though.

Mandara Spa Moisturising Shower Gels & Body Lotion

Now again I found these at Sainsburys but I believe you can buy from their own website too. I do like these I bought the Island Paradise Shower Gel & Lotion they have the same scent & again it is a fizzy/citrus scent due to the Grapefruit & Lemon fragrance. The shower gel lathers really well & leaves skin feeling really clean it also contains; Aloe Vera, Hibiscus Flower Milk, Ginseng, Sweet Orange & Patchouli as well as the Grapefruit & Lemon. The lotion is lovely and light & sinks in so fast leaving skin soft with a lovely scent which lasts a reasonable time too boot, this also contains; Starflower Oil, Aloe Vera, Kukui Nut Oil, Vitamin E, Ginseng, Sweet Orange & Patchouli along with the Grapefruit & Lemon.
The next products I bought where the Tropical Blooms Shower Gel & the Amber Heaven Body Lotion. I love these too the Shower Gel like the former lathers well & leaves skin feeling clean it has quite a warm floral/oriental scent to it which is lovely it contains; Aloe Vera, Frangapani Flower Milk, Shea Butter, Jasmine, Ylang Ylang & Osmanthus. The Amber Heaven Body Lotion is probably my favourite out of them all, I just love the scent it lasts so well & makes my skin feel so soft its a really warm, spicy & oriental scent with; Cocoa Butter, Nourishing Gold of pleasure Oil, Frangapani Flower Milk, Vitamin E, Sandalwood, Patchouli & Ylang Ylang.
These products come from Mandara's Revitalising Ritual, Calming Ritual & Sensual Ritual. Mandara came from Bali & they have exotic Spa's all over the world.

So everyone that is it for this post, I do hope you liked it or found it helpful any Questions or Comments leave them below, until next time, bye :)

First Blog Post & Current Skincare Favourites!

Hey Everyone,

This is my first blog post & so I thought I would start with some current skincare faves so without further a do lets get on...

So over the last few weeks I have been using L'oreal's Triple Active Night & Anti-Shine face creams/moisturisers they both claim to be hydrating although obviously the anti-shine is mattifying too so if you are like me and have oily or oily/combination skin anything that helps is always a bonus. Now the Triple Active Anti-Shine, claims it can be used day and evening/night but personally I use it a s a day cream, I dont worry to much whether my skin gets oily through the night when im sleeping (but hey thats just me) & yes it does work I do really like it, my make-up breaks up far less round the t-zone area (where I get oily the most) now I am not going to claim that it lasts all day & you don't get oily at all but for me the oiliness is far less. The plus for me is that it is so light it sinks into the skin I find so quickly so is great for under make-up the scent is also inoffensive I would say it is a "sharp fresh scent" my skin is just left soft and mattified which I like.

Now on to the Triple Active Night, I like this it is a rich cream but at the same time is not heavy or sticky which personally I don't like the feeling of as I am sure you don't either. The cream glides onto the skin & sinks in really well and quite quickly too, it leaves my face feeling really soft & smooth & I also find my skin feels quite refreshed after I put it on as well. I would say since using both of these I have seen an improvement in my skin it is not as red in areas it appears more even & my acne has decreased as well which is all good for me and what we all look for in face creams most of the time, right? Plus they are drugstore which means affordable and easily available to boot.

Last but not least is L'oreal's Age Perfect Refreshing Toner which claims to leave skin refreshed & reduce signs of fatigue with Vitamin C, now I know it is for mature skins but when I ordered it I did not see that in the description so when I got it I thought "just give it a go" & I did & again I really like it, it leaves my skin feeling clean & fresh also it dries off on the skin quickly too which I like with toner & I love the scent it reminds me of Calvin Klein's Beauty fragrance which is a favourite of mine so its got a plus to start with for me.

So thats it for my first blog post I hope you like it or found it helpful.
Until next time, Thanks for reading, Nat :)
